For his film on Jerry Lee Lewis, Terrence Malick wants to gather Natalie Portman and Brad Pitt.
Black Swan already seems to open many new doors to Natalie Portman. While the Gravity team offers him the lead after the double rejection of Angelina Jolie, it’s the turn of Terrence Malick want to add the actress in one of the castings. It is his role in the Black Swan had decided. As for Brad Pitt, he would develop the project in collaboration with the director.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film in question is a project by singer and American pianist Jerry Lee Lewis, without specifying whether it is a biopic or something else. The announcement of this project, and the fact that Terrence Malick is already thinking of casting are amazing. The director is indeed well known for taking his time between each film. But he is already preparing a while his Tree of Life is not out yet. We learned, in fact there is little he had hired Rachel Weisz and Ben Affleck for a future project.
Jerry Lee Lewis (born September 29, 1935) is an American rock and roll and country music singer-songwriter and pianist. He is known by the nickname ‘The Killer’. An early pioneer of rock and roll music, Lewis had hits in the late 1950s with songs such as “Great Balls Of Fire”, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, “Breathless” and “High School Confidential”. Lewis’s career soon faltered after he married his young cousin. He didn’t have much success in the charts following the scandal until his popularity recovered in the late ’60s after making a career extension to country and western music with songs such as “Another Place, Another Time”.
It is therefore surprising that this new film quickly became a reality. However, this proves once again that the performance of Natalie Portman in Black Swan seems to be exceptional. Rumors of Oscars must be justified!
