On his satellite show on Thursday, Howard Stern was joined by his long-time agent, Don Buchwald, who made a rare on-air appearance to present the show’s host with the official contracts for his new gig. Stern took great pleasure in joking about how he was going to be back with NBC, the company that famously fired him in 1985 for his lewd on-air behavior on his WNBC radio show.
Controversial radio DJ Howard Stern is to replace Piers Morgan on the judging panel of America’s Got Talent, it has been announced. Stern, 57, who presents a daily radio show on Sirius XM, will join Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne on the team.
Barbara Walters retiring? TMZ has just posted a blog that Barbara Walters told President Barack Obama she’s retiring next year. Of course, Barbara Walters is in the news a lot today because of her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2011″ special that aired last night. According to TMZ’s source, during a break while interviewing the President, “Barbara leaned over to Obama and said, ‘I need one more interview with you because I’m retiring next year.’”

Stern inked a deal to replace Piers Morgan, who’s busy working on his own talk show. I don’t know exactly how much Stern is getting paid to judge the talent show, but there are reports of $15 million. Stern was originally gunning to be a judge on “American Idol,” but lost out to Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
