Guillaume Cantin was crowned winner of the inaugural season of the show “Heads!” Broadcast on Radio-Canada. He won a prize of $ 50,000.
After the competition, ahead of Guillaume Cantin and Maltais Marjorie finalist Arnaud Marchand preparing a gourmet meal of four courses for eight people, six judges and facilitators.
The jury was composed of Laurent Godbout (The Grocer), Jean-Luc Boulay (Le Saint-Amour) and Pasquale Vari, head teacher at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Quebec (ITHQ) as well as guest judges Normand Laprise (Toqué) Jérôme Ferrer (Européa) and Mathieu Cloutier (Kitchen Galerie).
Guillaume Cantin, 25, of Quebec, has six years experience. He is currently chef at Restaurant Panache turning the Auberge Saint-Antoine. He came for the first time in the middle of the restaurant as a dishwasher at age 16. He then moved to the kitchen, working part time in the middle of the fast food before going to study at catering school, where he has classes in wine tasting, baking and cooking.
“Heads!”, Produced in Quebec, has achieved success during the summer. On 23 August, this program has generated particularly for shorter odds of 1,009,000.
Julie Bélanger and Daniel Vezina, head chef at Laurie Raphael has also acted as technical adviser, enliven the show.
