(Driver CAN) The Bridge: Struggle Story of Polices

As usual, the schedule couch is not without irony. Look, I spend months I lament the lack of any real “cop-show chronicled the daily” on the air, and behold, the same week, the small screen saw pouring several rounds of this kind. Indeed, in early March, if the unpublished Southland returned on TNT in the United States at the same time in Canada, started a new drama co-production between CTV and the American CBS: The Bridge.

The opportunity to open a new section on this blog (I admit that Canada and I had a nice honeymoon a few seasons ago, but lately we’re not getting along too on a couch – the time seem past when I could worship Slings & Arrows, while intrigued by Intelligence, and keeping a place in my heart for ReGenesis), also welcomed the return of Aaron Douglas (admittedly, the end of Battlestar Galactica, c ‘ was there less than a year, even if this seems like an eternity – and I’ve never really liked it, and more), and offer a night-long pilot test before the 1 hour 30 by which we introduced the series.

The Bridge plunges us into the daily life a police force infested with the personal ambitions of everyone, but also by corruption at all levels of the hierarchy. Each serves a precarious status quo, playing with and manipulating the media appearances in order to achieve its ends. To enhance contrast, face blurred the hierarchy where the internal opposition is exacerbated, the series title refers to the image of this bridge, power station, which is also very symbolic than practical: it refers also to the report that book is thus exist between the two extremes of the city, linking the area of a ghetto popular sets of detached villas with superb.

At the heart of turbid media, the series follows the life of Leo Frank (Aaron Douglas), patrol officer of high integrity with strong character and enough presence to be able to rally his colleagues to the causes he chose to fight . The pilot landed the context and challenges of its action, leading him to be elected union representative, following a series of events during which his strong leader will be affirmed by the force of circumstances where it is taxed as genuinely capable of defending the interests of police officers, even those with low grade. The story is based on a true story: the story of a union, Craig Bromell, and the action he took within the Toronto Police in the 90s until the early 2000s.
